This report is the first deliverable of Work Pakcage 1 (WP1 – Co-creation & pathways for implementation), entitled: State of the art of EAF – the science-policy-society interface in the European Union. The report is set up as required by the reference peer reviewed journals in the field Marine Policy/Ocean and Coastal Management, were it will be submitted. Following the abstract, the manuscript explores how the Ecosystem Approach is introduced into the EU Fisheries, with a focus on current interfaces and collaborative dynamics between science, policy and society in the context of implementing an Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Managament (EAFM).
