Research Article. A recent open access release addresses the integration of scientific and local knowledge to advance in Ecosystem modelling. Bevilacqua et al. (2016) model the same fishing area using fisher’s knowledge and scientific information. The study provides evidence that fishers’ knowledge may suitably complement scientific data, and may improve the modeling tools for the research and management of fisheries.
